Experience Au-Haidhausen

Haidhausen is the soul of Munich. If you want to get to know the real Munich from its most original side, then you have to visit ‘the Au’. The Auer Dult, which takes place three times per year, is one of the oldest markets in the city. Directly opposite the Marias Platzl hotel in central Munich, the Mariahilfkirche is one of the most important neo-Gothic buildings in Germany. Leafy beer gardens, vast green spaces and the superb Deutsches Museum are all worth visiting in this area too.

Experience Haidhausen

Meet and celebrate in "The Au"

In our “Kreszenz4 - Der Saal” you can meet and celebrate in a venue with character - we have preserved the original Munich atmosphere, while technology and comfort meet the most modern requirements.

With craftsmanship and real attention to detail, we have preserved the original Munich character, while technology and comfort meet the most modern requirements. Our event hall can accommodate up to 120 people and, thanks to its flexibility, is the ideal location for conferences, workshops and product presentations. Our Kreszenz4 is also suitable for weddings or a cozy birthday party.

Maria's Platzl in the Au

Welcome to the traditional side of old Munich. ‘The Au’ was first mentioned in records in 1340, although its official incorporation into the royal capital did not follow until 1854.

After its completion in 1839, the Mariahilfkirche was the social centre of ‘the Au’. Today there’s always hustle and bustle at the Mariahilfplatz: this is the site of the weekly market, which takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Bavarian customs & traditions are celebrated at the Auer Dult – a special event held here three times per year.

Walk across this historic square and you come to Marias Platzl. If you want to get to know the "old" Munich, this is the perfect place to do it!

Located in the heart of Munich

Because in addition to the Auer Dult and the weekly markets, other exciting places are very close by: it takes you barely more than five minutes from the hotel to the Isar River, and the climb to the Nockherberg starts just a stone's throw away. If you still want to go out in the evening, the Glockenbachviertel awaits just on the other side of the Reichenbachbrücke. A recommendation for the winter: Just a 15-minute walk away, the Haidhaus Christmas Market exudes contemplative holiday magic.

The rest of Munich can also be reached quickly thanks to excellent connections to the public transport network. You can reach Marienplatz by bus in 10 minutes - and thus our flagship store is not far away. Why not visit us for a meal at the Pfistermühle, or how about a cocktail at the Josefa?
