A year ago, we achieved three important milestones at the Platzl Hotel — and the first figures show that we have taken a significant step in the right direction. In September 2024, we opened the Josefa on Sparkassenstraße, created 15 new suites in the Platzl Hotel, and unveiled our new lobby. With its distinctive design and cozy co-working space, it has since become a place that is well received by both our guests and our team.
After just one year, positive developments are already evident: between December and June, our average occupancy rate was nearly 80 percent, and we recorded more than 25,000 overnight stays. A closer look at the origins of our guests also shows that we are gaining significance beyond the local region — in addition to Germany and Switzerland, guests from the USA ranked among our most important markets in the first half of 2025.
A Growing Team
Alongside the encouraging guest numbers, we were also able to welcome many new colleagues in the first half of 2025. Today, our family comprises an average of 185 employees who work with us across our properties — the Platzl Hotel, Pfistermühle, Ayinger am Platzl, Ayinger in der Au, Josefa, Marias Platzl, as well as our conference and event venue Kreszenz⁴ – Der Saal — to create success together. The area of conferences, events, and meetings has also shown particularly strong growth, with a total of 5,644 participants welcomed during this period.
Strong Figures in Gastronomy
From January to June 2025, our restaurants welcomed an impressive 178,000 guests — 139,000 at the Platzl Hotel and 39,000 at Marias Platzl. Our cooperation with the Munich Cheese Manufactory has proven to be particularly successful. The introduction of Bavarian tapas at Wirtshaus Ayinger in der Au has also attracted new guest groups.
Investing in the Future
To ensure our operations run as efficiently as possible in the background and to offer our guests the highest level of comfort, we have invested around €350,000 in digitizing our processes. These steps help us not only to be successful today but also to sustainably secure our future as a modern company rooted in tradition.
