February in Munich has a lot to offer - especially for those who want to enjoy winter in the city to the full. We spoke to Jonathan - one of our bar talents at Josefa - who gave us his favorite tips for the cold season. From relaxed winter walks to colorful carnival celebrations - Jonathan shows us how to make February in Munich a real highlight!

What makes February in Munich special for you?

February is the month of calm for me. The city is not so crowded, which makes Munich a pleasant place to slow down. There is a special atmosphere when winter slowly turns into spring and the days get longer again. At the same time, the carnival season brings a welcome change - after the quiet winter weeks, it provides color, liveliness and an exuberant party atmosphere. I really like this contrast: the relaxed atmosphere in the city and the cheerful events that break up the winter.

What is your favorite place in Munich's old town in winter and why?

A very special place for me in winter is definitely the Eisbach! For me, going into the water in winter and enjoying the experience of ice bathing in the middle of the city is a must. The cool freshness of the water immediately clears my head and at the same time I can feel the connection to nature, even though I'm in the middle of an urban area.

What would you recommend to our guests who want to discover Munich at this time of year?

I can recommend a walk through the English Garden - it's great even in February. The park offers plenty of space and tranquillity, perfect for a little break. The old town also has many cozy corners - our Josefa is ideal for a leisurely break and to enjoy the atmosphere. Those looking for more action should not miss the carnival events. The parades and colorful celebrations bring variety to the winter month!

In February, the Josefa Karree reopens in good weather - what highlights await our guests?

The Josefa Karree is definitely a highlight when the weather plays along. With live DJ sets to set the right mood and delicious drinks to round things off, it's the perfect place to enjoy the winter in a unique atmosphere. There is a great sociability: good-humored guests, good conversations and an incomparable atmosphere. Here you can simply enjoy the moment and soak up Munich's special atmosphere.

Thank you for your great tips, dear Jonathan.
